In 1999 a 3.5 million year old skull was excavated from Kenya. It was proposed as another possible distant ancestor of mankind. This specimen has been added to the growing list of species which existed 2 to 3.5 million years ago and are clearly neither modern primate or modern human, one of which may have been our ancestors.

Science Argument:

This is clearly proof of evolution and that we have descendants that are older than any religious beliefs.

Religious Argument:

Humans sprouted fully-formed in our current state, as did all animal “kinds”.

How can you argue with Science on this fact? Do you have tangible proof of our existence BEFORE any religious timeline existed? Please share!

Nearly half of Americans actually believe that the Earth is less than ten thousand years old and that humans were created by God rather than evolving from primitive primates. (See the August 3rd post: Where Do You Believe We Came From?) Or to put it another way, despite their own lack of formal scientific education, almost half of the general population has decided that in their eminently qualified judgment, every major scientific body in the world and more than 99% of individual scientists are completely wrong.

Three questions come to mind:

First, we must ask how someone can seriously believe in such a young Earth, when literally every scientific dating method known to mankind says otherwise.

Second, we must ask how someone can seriously deny any hereditary connection between apes and men, when we are so similar in so many ways.

Third, we must ask how almost half of the general public came to be so contemptuous of scientists that they think the scientists’ years of grueling study and even entire lifetimes of hard work and dedication can be equaled (or even surpassed) by simply browsing the Internet. No classes, no exams, no assignments, no lab work, just browsing the Internet!

Early naturalists classified animals into a hierarchical “family tree” structure long before the theory of evolution was proposed.
In other words, all naturalists agreed long before Darwin that the animal kingdom appeared to be a family tree. Why? You can take any given feature and trace its appearance, in various levels of complexity, along lines of animal species. Species which appeared to be very close to one another on the family tree were also geographically close to one another.

If someone or something had indeed designed and created these species, he went to enormous lengths to make them appear to be related, by carefully arranging their structures and geography to match! This, then, is the single largest argument for evolution: it is a solution to a problem that no other theory can explain.

Creationists often try to argue that God could have chosen to make the animal kingdom look that way, but they can’t explain why or how. And if they can’t explain why or how, then they actually do not have an explanation.

Can anyone explain how you would derive the prediction of a “family tree” animal kingdom from the idea of God?

The Big Bang.. it’s where it all started… Right?

Maybe so, but what if the Big Bang is an event that occurs frequently throughout the history of the universe? Could we be the aftermath of one Big Bang that allowed life to exist? Think of all the history you have learned. You never hear about failed attempts, but you KNOW all the successful ones. How many attempts do you think Edison made before creating a successful light bulb? It is said it took two years and over 6000 attempts before he got it right. How many of you how many attempts it took? How many of you know that Edison created the bulb?

The point we are making is that The Big Bang may have created it all, but our Big Bang is most likely the successful “Bang” out of millions of “Bangs” that went right. It could be the last Big Bang to happen or we could be riding on this successful “Bang” that could end anytime.

Now you might be thinking… “If there were multiple Big Bangs, then presumably wouldn’t we see some faraway galaxies moving towards each other or at least a more complicated relationship between the distance of objects we see and the speeds at which they appear to be moving away from us?” The answer is YES! As far as we can observe, we do not see galaxies moving toward each other, but our current timeline should not be considered the only one. What if only one Big Bang can occur at a time? What if they are occurring all the time in different dimensions? Some say the universe has and will again collapse on itself and the Big Bang process will start over. If this is true many things would make more sense, but the current Big Bang model does not show, or will not ever show, a galaxy collapsing on itself and creating another big bang.

At some point while reading the above text you have asked yourself, ”So there are multiple Big Bangs… well… you did not mention where the first Big Bang material came from?” Your right. We don’t know and there is a very small chance we will know. There are theories of course, but how could you prove them with 100% certainty? I guess if a “being” came to us with verifiable truth then we would know, but the first question I would ask is how this “being” knows with 100% certainty if nothing was around before this event. I can not say we will never know because history has taught us when you say never in science, someone finds a way to find an answer. The Big Bang Theory may easily be replaced by a new theory as knowledge grows and this question may never need be answered. Let’s look at this another way. If we wonder about who created God, then we have to wonder about who created the creator of God, and who created the creator of the creator of God, and who created the creator of the creator of the creator of the creator of God, add infinitum, then there is an endless cycle of God-creation, and never any action from this God to produce the universe in the first place.

So where do we go from here? I’m not going to just guess or infer something without basis… instead… I’m going to tell you we come up with these ideas or theories because they are the logical conclusion of what we observe. What if we can not see the truth? What if what we know though experiment turns up nothing? What if we are looking for the wrong thing? Maybe our brains can not grasp the truth?

You can imagine anything you like. Proof is another thing altogether. It is said that anything your brain can imagine can become reality. I will tell you this is true, but that’s a topic for another article that we will surely be exploring soon!

It is well known that Science and Religion fundamentals rest on opposite sides of the fence. Just as in a relationship between two people, opposites can attract. If two people are so different, why do they find a connection? Could there be a force linking them in which they are unaware? Maybe this force is the Zero Point Field?

You are most likely asking yourself… “What the heck is the Zero Point Field (ZPF)?” If we were to dive head first into all of the data surrounding the ZPF you might was well start a new daily hobby! What I am going to do in typical Thoughts That Make You Think fashion is to outline fundamental concepts and get right to the point! Of course, it will be in plain english. I’m sure there will be other articles on our site related to this topic, but this will be our starting point…

Before we begin to explain the ZPF we need to simply define Quantum Physics and Quantum Theory…

Quantum Physics is a branch of science that deals with discrete, indivisible units of energy called quanta as described by the quantum theory. In physics, a quantum (plural: quanta) is the minimum unit of any physical entity involved in an interaction. In other words, there is a limit to how small something can be, and that limit is a quantum.

Quantum Theory is a way of explaining the nature of matter, and how it behaves on the atomic, and even the subatomic, level. In other words, quantum theory is essentially a description of this microscopic world. Quantum theory has made the modern world possible, giving us lasers and computers and iPod nanos, not to mention explaining how the sun shines and why the ground is solid.

Ok… so we are taking about really small indivisible things and the world they live in. Got it? Now… let’s define the Zero Point Field which is created by these things. I’ve borrowed some words from the recent book, The Field by Lynne McTaggart…

To understand the ZPF, consider an old-fashioned grandfather clock with its pendulum swinging back and forth. If you don’t wind the clock , friction will sooner or later bring the pendulum to a halt. Now imagine a pendulum that gets smaller and smaller, so small that it ultimately becomes atomic in size (Very Very Very Very small) and subject to a rule in quantum physics called the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. This law states (with certainty, as it happens) that no quantum object, such as a microscopic pendulum, can ever be brought completely to rest. Any microscopic object will always possess a residual random jiggle thanks to quantum fluctuations. At every possible frequency there will always be a tiny bit of electromagnetic jiggling going on. And if you add up all these ceaseless fluctuations, what you get is a background sea of light whose total energy is enormous: the zero-point field. The “zero-point” refers to the fact that even though this energy is huge, it is the lowest possible energy state. All other energy is over and above the zero-point state. Take any volume of space and take away everything else — in other words, create a vacuum — and what you are left with is the zero-point field. We can imagine a true vacuum, devoid of everything, but the real-world quantum vacuum is permeated by the zero-point field with its ceaseless electromagnetic waves.

The fact that the zero-point field is the lowest energy state makes it unobservable. We see things by way of contrast. The eye works by letting light fall on the otherwise dark retina. But if the eye were filled with light, there would be no darkness to afford a contrast. The zero-point field is such a blinding light. Since it is everywhere, inside and outside of us, permeating every atom in our bodies, we are effectively blind to it. It blinds us to its presence. The world of light that we do see is all the rest of the light that is over and above the zero-point field.

So how does the ZPF Link Science and Religion?

In the middle of the 20th century Karl Lashley conducted experiments with rats training them to perform a variety of tasks such as run a maze. He proceeded to surgically remove various portions of their brains and retested them in a maze. He even cut out the section of the brain that is suppose to contain the memory for these functions. No matter what portion of the brain he cut out he could not eradicate their memories. Some of the rats did have motor skill issues and stumbled through the maze, but their memories remained intact 100% of the time! This can only indicate that these memories were either stored throughout the brain as a whole or were stored outside the brain and the brain is just a decoding device that was able to pull these memories from the ZPF. Maybe… Just maybe… all the information is all around us and some of our brains can decode more of the information than others? Many such experiements have occured since and have shown the same results with different species. Some went as far as rotating the brain completely in many different ways… even upside down! Memory was still retained and/or decoded!

Another interesting study was done in a pitch black facility by Fritz – Albert Popp in the 1970′s. He wanted to measure biophoton (light) emissions in humans. If he were in a pitch black facility and was able to read light emissions the only place they could come from was the human body. Right? Guess what… he not only found light emissions from humans… he discovered that based on a humans health the light emissions given off were much different. Healthy humans gave off the least light, cancer patients gave off the most light, and Multiple Sclerosis(MS) patients were taking in too much light. In other words, the healthiest body would have the lowest light and be closest to a zero state, the most desirable state. This zero state would be the closest living things could get to nothingness. So where was this light going? If a person was taking in light where was it coming from? Does the ZPF contain all the energy/light and we just tap into it as needed? Can we control or change the amount we give and get?

As a last example of the ZPF I would like to discuss the findings of collective consciousness and it’s affects that have been observed in research. Can you will something to happen? Can praying or concentrating on a single person or outcome, as a group, make it a reality? The answer to all these questions is… YES! … Huh? What? How? Yep… that’s right. To understand what was tested it needs to be noted that it must be a common cause, concept, or result that is tested without another group canceling your result. You can not will your favorite baseball team into winning as there are an equal number of others willing the other team to win. The best way to explain this concept is one’s health and the health of others. In studies of longevity, those people who live the longest are often not only those who believe in a higher spiritual being, but those who have the strongest sense of belonging to a community. If intention creates health – that is improved order – in another person it would suggest that illness is a disturbance in the quantum fluctuations of an individual. What I am saying is that your intentions toward others and their sense of belonging can be directly related to their well being. This is not voodoo, as some will call it, and of course there are not guaranteed results. It has been shown in experiment after experiment that a collective group, which concentrates it’s intention toward a sick person’s well being, can speed up recovery even if they do not directly know the person. In fact, there have been experiments done where people from all over the world focused their good/healing intent to a known sick person and the results were as expected… their overall health improved where as the control group were unchanged or became more sick.

Let me leave you with these thoughts:

Every individual, whether they know it or not, looks to history for wisdom and what is “truth”. I have listed these “truths” as they relate to our discussion and the new “truths” that are forming from the research and findings of the ZPF.

Previous Truths:

The human being is a survival machine largely powered by chemicals and genetic coding.

The brain is a discrete organ and the home of consciousness, which is also largely driven by chemistry – the communication of cells and the coding of DNA.

Man is essentially isolated from his world, and his mind is isolated from his body

Time and space are finite, universal orders.

Nothing travels faster than the speed of light.

New Truths:

The communication of the world did not occur in the visable realm of Newton, but in the subatomic world of Werner Heisenberg.

The brain perceived and made its own record of the world in pulsating waves.

A substructure underpins the universe that is essentially a recording medium of everything, providing a means for everything to communicate with everything else.

People are indivisible from their environment. Living consciousness is not an isolated entity. It increases order in the rest of the world. The consciousness of human beings has incredible powers, to heal ourselves, to heal the world – in a sense, to make it as we wish it to be!

So how are Science and Religion linked? You may have already made the connection after reading the above text. Science is showing that there is an ordered higher level of consciousness that we can learn to understand and religion already believes the higher being exists through it’s faith. The connection is there… proof of a higher level of order / consciousness. This higher being may not be what any one religion defines as their God, but science may show what this order actually may be. You have heard of near death experiences where the patients claim they have seen a bright light. Could they, or their consciousness, be entering the ZPF and merging with it? Could they be ascending into Zero Point Energy thus becoming part of the field in which they came? Are we all one with God and with the universe? Is God the Zero Point Field?

It has been shown through experimentation and studies with the ZPF that a higher collective consciousness is out there. There no longer need to be the truth of science and the truth of religion, but one truth… one vision of the world through proof of existence of the Zero Point Field!

How old things are can give considerable insight into it’s origins and expose truths that once lay hidden.

So how old is the earth? How old is our solar system? What do you know? What do you believe? The exact date of earth’s creation may not be known but we can use current facts and data to show a close estimate.

If you were to measure the age of the oldest known rocks dated on earth and studied samples of meteorites which have landed on earth you would conclude the earth is close to 4.54 billion years old.

If you were to use the Christian dating system you would conclude the age of the earth at about 5800-6000 years old. So where does this number come from? In order to compute this you need to take a known date from the Bible which is Saul’s reign as the first king of Israel. This was around the date of 1020 BCE. The exact date is up for interpretation, but for this discussion the exact date is not necessary. Moving on you would need to work backwards through the Book of Judges, Joshua’s conquest of Canaan, the arrival of Abraham in Canaan, and then use the ages of the famous pre-flood personages in the Bible to estimate the number of years between creation and the flood. Instead of doing all this you could pick up a book written in 1650CE called “Annales veteris testamenti, a prima mundi origine deducti” (“Annals of the Old Testament, deduced from the first origins of the world.”) by Bishop James Ussher, a 17th century Irish archbishop from Armagh, Ireland which already traced it back for you. He calculated that God had created the Earth in 4004 BCE. A decade earlier, Dr. John Lightfoot, (1602 – 1675), an Anglican clergyman, rabbinical scholar, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge had already arrived at an estimate of 4004-OCT-23 BCE.

Lets say both of these estimates are off by a considerable amount. There is a HUGE difference between 6000 and 4.54billion. One is based on a book written with questionable origins and the other is based on measurable proof. There is no indication that these 2 theories will ever agree. If we base our belief’s on the Bible we will have to accept 6000 or so years as the creation of Earth which we know using facts and real data that this date is not possible.

This data and these presented facts leave me no choice but to side with science and say that this only further proves that the Bible may just be a book. Although a well thought out book… it’s not completely bulletproof!?

There are many beliefs of what God is or what God may be. What if your beliefs turned out to be wrong?

Ask yourself these questions:

Let’s say you are a Christian and found out that unless you were Jewish you would not ascend to your version of heaven after death. Would you instantly change your beliefs? What if you couldn’t? What if you were completely against the Jewish culture?

Proof surfaces from scientific research that God does not exist. Is that possible? Would current governments hide the truth to save current religions and prevent a world wide melt down?

What if the one true God shows themselves and is a being or entity that does not align themselves with any current or past beliefs?

What if proof exists that religion was created as a form of government so that the religious leaders could maintain control and order over their followers?

Let’s say all religions were created to fill the human fear of the unknown?

What if our current level of consciousness can’t comprehend what the truth holds?

Do these questions make you wonder if what you believe is the truth? Most of us have beliefs our parents raised us with. It’s likely your parents inherited these beliefs from their parents. How many of you have your own beliefs that you have formed on your own? Have you done research? Have you explored what you believe? I would say most of you will say no…

So what does this mean for all of us? I guess it will all depend on the information we have and future findings that will shape what we can comprehend. If you take the time to do some research, and look at what knowledge exists, you will find that there are more answers than you may think. For those of you that would just like the answers… Your in luck! I will continue to explore and research these and many more questions and I will share my findings on this website.

The debate goes on about God Vs. Science in the existence of everything. If you find an answer… more questions come up. You ask a question… you receive more questions.

The question that you are not hearing is:

“Does the human race need faith and the belief in a God to settle our worries and fears about what we don’t know even if we can disprove many beliefs with science and fact?”

Everyone can, and will, acknowledge the existence of other planets and solar systems. Don’t agree? Watch this short video on proof they exist:

So… you see them right? It’s only logical to conclude that in each of these systems there is a planet like ours that supports life. No? Maybe not all systems, but let’s say at least a few for arguments sake because this statement is as close to fact as you can get.

Now, let’s say God exists in a way that most religions view him today; I was brought up catholic with the Bible. Did our God in all the forms he is represented in our world visit all of these systems? Is he only our God?

The point is not to prove the existence of God as we know him, or prove “God” as a concept, or even support the Big Bang Theory. What I’m pointing out is that if a higher being does not exist AT ALL and it can be proven that this being does not exist how would the majority of the world’s population react?

It doesn’t matter what your belief’s or religion may be. You have just been shown proof that you are born, live, and die… that’s it. Nothing else… nothing more… What is your reaction? Can the population deal with this fact? Will people lose their mind? Will people view life differently? Will there be a major change in the planet? What will Religious leaders do or think?

Will people still believe in God or a higher being because they need that belief to cope with the unknown?; ESPECIALLY death and how they live their lives day to day?

Current evidence shows that we are causing harm to the planet we all call home. Can this be true? Let’s say global warming in no way can be caused by anything we do as human’s. The fact remains that we are not being responsible for our self created messes!

Don’t you think personal responsibility applies to everything we do?

As humans, we all produce waste that has nothing to do with bodily functions. Look at every other living thing on this planet. What do they waste? Do they have it in their nature to waste? All this waste produced has to go somewhere.

Who’s responsibility is it to make sure the waste is handled?

In the United States we pay taxes and we pay for all or most of the items we consume or use. As consumers we can only do so much to recycle and sort waste. Why do manufactures create items that can not be recycled? How about profits and convenience for the producer and consumer? As part of the cost of production is it the manufacture’s responsibility to clean up the long term waste mess? How would they track down all their products after the consumers are done with them? Maybe it should be the waste companies responsibility? What about the government? Can they control these things?

Everything that is manufactured or made can only be done with ingredients you find on this planet. So everything we make should have some way to be broken back down into it’s naturally occurring elements or ingredients. This can happen naturally or scientifically by reverse engineering. Maybe the question should be directed to the manufacture of these specific products that cause intolerable pollutants while being made? If for some reason it can’t be disassembled why make it? It’s much cheaper to pile it up and let it rot then to break it down. Let’s say we try an experimental plan to break down waste that will not naturally decompose. It would cost a nice chunk of cash initially, but after the process is perfected how much would it cost to sustain this process? It’s the same with keeping your home clean or staying healthy. Normal maintenance is much easier than cleaning up your mess once a month or curing a preventable disease. At what cost are we doing damage to the planet and ourselves?

There are many factors that contribute to waste and actions we do that harm ourselves and others. Is it in our nature to want it all? Do we all want “stuff” and then “new stuff”? Lack of knowledge was certainly a factor decades and century’s ago. Do we now possess the knowledge to understand a viable solution? Can we prevent and possibly reverse past blunders?

Is “Going Green” going to be a way of life or is it going to be another fad?
